The man, the myth, the legend - Bryan Ferry!

In less than 24 hours my life will completely change FOREVER! And my small, simple little world will ever be the same. For I, will be seeing Bryan Ferry up close & personal from third row seats at The Greek theater. Expect greatness!

My obsession with my gentleman of the manor Mr. Ferry, has been around for years. But only lately has it exploded into full blown hysteria. I mean what woman wouldn't fall completely hypnotized by his gravitational pull? Women young and old, (he is know to now at age 66, date woman half his age - or more) have succumb to his sex appeal, talent, elegance, and "it" factor that has allowed Mr. Ferry to a career 40 years old.

A little bit about the man of honor, Bryan Ferry was on September 26, 1945 Washington, County Durham UK. Growing up he should great promise in both acting and music. In 1971 Ferry formed the infamous band Roxy Music with members Andy Mackay, Brian Eno, Graham Simpson, Phil Mazanera and Paul Thompson. Ferry and Roxy Music put out many highly acclaimed albums (Country Life being my personal favorite) until 1982's Avalon, where after extensive touring he decided to go solo. Bryan has had a very successful solo career and is currently on tour with his latest album Olympia.

What I love about Bryan (besides his tremendous musical talent) is his personal style. No one in my opinion comes close to his dapper, sensual, elegant persona. Ferry has collaborated for many years with fashion designer Antony Price for image consultations , styling and clothing. Bryans love for art, style and glamour is evident in his fashionable suits, imagery on albums, music and attitude. British Interior designer and socailite, Nicholas Haslam, has been quoted saying about Bryan Ferry "he is more likely to redecorate a hotel room than to trash it". And for that Mr. Ferry- we salute you!

Philosophy Di Alberta Ferretti A/W 2011 - 2012

DISCLAIMER: If you are faint of heart for pretty pretty fashion, you may want to make sure you are sitting down before you read the rest of this entry and totally start loathing over easily one of the most beautiful, and most stylish current collections I have EVER seen! Please take this disclaimer as a warning.

Now that we have the legal formalities out of the way, I present the most swoon worthy A/W 2011 collection EVER, Philosophy Di Alberta Ferretti:

The cuts! The pastel colors! The short hemlines! The drop waist! The details! The metallic stacked heeled Mary-Janes (I never wanted to make love to a shoe until now)! The sharp coordinates! I feel light headed and lovesick all at the same time! Aw to be in love!

And if you're not on the verge of collapsing like I am,  I strongly urge you to watch the runway presentation of the Philosophy collection. You can view the entire line in all its artistic glory!

Too much prettiness for one day! I'm forever in awe!

John from 9 1/2 Weeks

Boy oh boy! I have just finished seeing 9 1/2 Weeks starring a very young and sexy Mickey Rourke,(did I just use sexy and Mickey Rourke in the same sentence?) and the stunning Kim Basinger. The film itself was very heartfelt and the sexuality, even if at times pretty hot & heavy, was tastefully done to show the pure passion and emotion between the 2 main characters.

The whole movies oozed the avant gard and pure excess which was the 80s. 9 1/2 Weeks was completely stylized with 80s over-the-top flashiness and reminded me of another movie that I hold so dear to my heart- American Psycho, because of the hot, sexually charged, handsome 80's Wall Street yuppie main male character. And who says I don't have a type?

As for the fashion, Kim Basinger's character Elizabeth, wore the quintessential hot 80s babe outfits. Structured little black dresses, tailored men's wear inspired suits-shoulder pads and all, lots of lingerie and the super oversize linen/ cotton pieces that were so popular in the 80's and unfortunately I see remnants of it all the time on girls at the Cooper Bldg.

But as for Mickey's character John, he has the sexy I-can't-wait-to-take-your-clothes-off look down! For some reason, I don't remember 80's fashion being so bad for men. I mean suits where big and very military inspired, and the color palatte often a mix of greys, black, and white.

So here is what I would dress John in if I were to get my little hands on him!

Hugo Boss 3/4 length Men's coat. Because if you are young and hot working on Wall St. in the 80's- you must wear Hugo Boss.

Brooks Brothers wool V-neck Sweater. An easy piece to look cool in and throw on once you actually get out of the bedroom.

American Apparel Military Surplus Tee. This extra heavy heather grey crew neck goes so well under your Pea Coat while you are romancing on the streets on NY.

Ralph Lauren Purple Label Pleated Wool pants. These pants have a looser fit that would make it easier for John to, ummm, move around in. And for Elizabeth to get into! (Please see bar scene in the movie!)

Kiehls Malleable Molding Paste - for the perfect 80's coiffure.

And of course a Dior Silk Scarf. Because you never know when you may want to blind fold your special someone.

And as if I didn't have another reason to totally geek out over this movie, my darling Bryan Ferry's classic, Slave to Love, is featured in one of the most romantic parts of the movie. Ooo Mr. Ferry!

Orla Kiely never disappoints! They've done it again in their S/S 2011 collection, mixing a variety of fabrics like tweeds, sheer chiffon's, bold knits, and silks and adding their extremely feminine, classic touches to it.

Orla Kiely can do no wrong!

I am in total lust over that pastel mint green shoulder bag and Cat-eyed sunglasses! Pleeeeease let that shoulder bag and those sunglasses be at the next Orla Kiely sample sale at the Cooper Bldg! Please fashion gods! Please!
