Nicolas Jebran Haute Couture 2012

Yes, I am about a year late on this magnificent collection but it is so incredibly lavish, and so delightfully ornate that I just had to post the beautiful photos of Nicolas Jebran's 2012 Haute Couture collection.

I especially feel like this time of year gives these fantasy laden photos a even more surreal and enchanting aspect to them. The background for these photos is a wintery and whimsical setting where these lovely bobbed haired ladies show the decadence of each piece of clothing the Lebanese designer created.

Anja Rubik for Vogue Italia

The most insanely cool Vogue Italia shoot I have ever seen! The hair, the makeup, the clothing, the sex appeal, the attitude! I cannot get over how sensational  Anja Rubik looks in this shoot by Camilla Akrans.  The photos are vampy, feminine and masculine at the same time. And Anja's hair is totally mod. It's like my 2 loves of 60's Mod and 80's Dark Wave clashed and the result is beautiful Anja in this shoot titled "Wild & Chic" I've said it once and i'll say it again- European Vogue definitely outshines ours in my honest opinion. Does anyone know if I can get a Vogue Italia subscription sent to  Los Angeles?

Happy Halloweenie!

Oh Hallow's Eve! The one day a year where you can be anything you like and totally get away with it. I decided to get in the spirit this year at the last minute but couldn't decided what to be. So I took a gander into my closet and tried to get my creative juices flowing. Lets see, I have about 4 dresses which are all black with white collars, multiple pairs of black as night opaque stockings, and some eerie looking vintage Justin boots.  Why my ensemble looks like something straight out of a Addam's closet! And so my Wednesday Addam's costume was born.

Wednesday is the daughter of Gomez and Morticia Addams and a little style icon. With her raven pigtails, pale ghostly skin, and macabre little black dress, this pint size morbid girl is as adorable as she is ghoulish!

Here are some ideas of W.W.W.W? (What Would Wednesday Wear?)

Black Knit Dress with Peter Pan Collar www.asos.com

Maria La Rosa Opaque Ribbed Tights www.saksfifthavenue.com

Kate Spade Mary Janes www.Zappos.com

Bumble and Bumble Black Hair Powder

Make Up For Ever Microfinish Powder

A grim little children's book for Wednesday's library!

Antique bottles for spells & potions!

Here is my version of the groovy little ghoul (with T as "the 1%").  I wore my Modern Lovers dress, black opaque tights from Target, and my vintage Justin boots. I added a wig complete with pigtails, a heavy coat of Cover Girl foundation in Ivory, and a little grey eyeshadow for some deadly looking dark undereye circles and I had myself a quick costume!

Happy Halloween kids!!

ADULT. & other works by Nicola Kuperus Pt. 2

So many beautiful photographs from photographer/musician Nicola Kuperus that I couldn't just do one post now could I?

Do you think living in Detroit had influenced her on often photographing her subjects with cars? I adore how her deathly subjects coordinate perfect with the vintage automobiles.

Enjoy.

ADULT. & other works by Nicola Kuperus Pt. 1

If you aren't familiar with this extraordinary talented woman, Nicola Kuperus, then please take this time to be acquainted with her magnificent photography & musical work.

As one half of the husband/wife Detroit duo ADULT., Nicole and her husband Adam Lee Miller, have been creating dark, synth filled, electronica music since 1998 with the release of their first EP Modern Romantics . ADULT. has released 4 albums between 1998-2007 and Kuperus & Miller started the Detroit record label known as Ersatz Audio. (RIP Ersatz Audio)

What you may not have already know is that Nicola is the incredible photographer responsible for all of ADULT. 's album work. She has a way of bringing elegant & sinister scenes to life (or death should I say because of the subjects in her photographs). I have always been a huge fan of Nicola's music and her artwork is no exception!

This last picture and name of album, Why Bother?, pretty much sums up how I usually feel.
