Ahoy hoys newest girl crush - model Doug Douglas!

The 18 year old Newcastle native was discovered when a modeling agency held an scouting event in her hometown. Miss Douglas couldn't make the event in person so her father brought a photo the the agency scouts fell in love with that adorable face!

Miss Douglas says that her dream is to be featured in a campaign for Burberry, the iconic England fashion house. But as one of Hedi Silmane muses for his Saint Laurent collections, we'd say the teenager is doing pretty good for herself already :)

Modern Mod Maven - Dawn O'Porter

One thing is to be married to comedian Chris O' Dowd from IT Crowd / Bridesmaids fame, and another thing is to have an immaculate mod style! This is why I hereby declare Dawn O'Porter a Modern Mod Maven!

She may not be a household name in the states (yet) but Dawn is known in the UK for her television documentaries covering taboo subjects such as sex, extreme dieting, nudity and polygamy as well as for her writing (her newest novel, Paper Aeroplanes, is about 2 teenage girls growing up in the mid 90's. It may very well be the story of my teenage years) But what I find absolutely adorable about the Scottish TV presenter and author is her ace personal style. From her perfect bobbed coiffure, and the terrific array of dresses; peter pan collared, Pucci print, shift, or mini- Dawn rocks them all with style!  I love how there are very few photos of her in pants as she wears dresses all the time- and that is why you, Dawn O'Porter are a Modern Mod Maven!

I think Dawn & Chris would very much be the one celebrity couple I would most like to go on a double date on. I could imagine the well dressed fun Liam and I would have with them!

Meeting Miss Moffitt

This is one of the hardest posts I have ever written. Words are not really doing their life's purpose and allowing me to describe how utterly in awe and star struck I still feel from Friday nights event. How does one go about describing a moment where they were taking in every nano second while it was happening and yet totally blanking out at the same time? The occasion seemed to be a byproduct of years and years of manifesting and putting the idea out into the world, and yet at the same time a sheer case of "being at the right place and the right time".


I mean after all, to me Peggy Moffitt is my ultimate girl crush. And having the chance to meet my biggest style inspiration and fashion icon at The Total Look exhibit at MOCA, was really such a life changing event to me.


The whole evening was a blast and very memorable because not only did I get to meet such a hero of mine but it was spent with people who not only share my enthusiasm for beautiful design and exquisite vintage fashion, but who are dear friends in my life. I couldn't be happier with how my momentous evening turned out.

A Rudi Dress and Ferragamos?! This is my interpretation of heaven!

My favorite Rudi outfit- The Japanese School uniform. It was such a treat to finally see this beautful ensemble in person!

Short hemlines and empire waist everywhere! I absolutely adore it.

Is there anything more feminine than a square neckline?

What's black, white and red all over? My second favorite Rudi piece on display. Of course put sharply together with matching red Ferragamos. I want to cry.

And behold!The beautiful Peggy Moffitt in all her glory. She looked amazingly fabulous and was everything I imagined her to be! She is such an icon!

 And at the end I finally got my Peggy Moffitt book signed. I knew exactly what page I wanted her signature on - the Japanese School Uniform page of course!

Girl Crush! - Rooney Mara

Oh Rooney, let me count the ways! You are officially a girl crush of mine and you have joined the ranks of other girl crushes such as Cecilia Mendez, Alison Nix and Ranya Mordanova. Yes, I totally have a type, but who cares? Your slim physic, elegance, bright eyes, and of course, lets not forget PERFECT HAIRCUT definitely distinguishes you among the legions of boring, long haired, overly sexed up women.

Here is Rooney at the CFDA/ Vogue Awards on November 14  looking beautiful and Vulcan  like.

And I do believe she is wearing Nars new lip color, Train Bleu, which I have recently bought and have been obsessed with as of lately.
