Girl Crush! - Rooney Mara

Oh Rooney, let me count the ways! You are officially a girl crush of mine and you have joined the ranks of other girl crushes such as Cecilia Mendez, Alison Nix and Ranya Mordanova. Yes, I totally have a type, but who cares? Your slim physic, elegance, bright eyes, and of course, lets not forget PERFECT HAIRCUT definitely distinguishes you among the legions of boring, long haired, overly sexed up women.

Here is Rooney at the CFDA/ Vogue Awards on November 14  looking beautiful and Vulcan  like.

And I do believe she is wearing Nars new lip color, Train Bleu, which I have recently bought and have been obsessed with as of lately.

Orla Kiely Autumn / Winter 2011 Collection

Irish designer, Orla Kiely, has took a turn at dark & sophisticated in her latest A/W collection. Still holding on to her youthful, playful esthetic, her current collection does seem to have grown up a bit this season.

In this collection you'll see a big introduction of darker, more seasoned colors like black, olive, charcoal gray, and variations of rust. There is also an addition of  refined pieces like high waisted pegged slacks,  sharp tailored trousers, and wide legged pants. (Because a girl can't live on dresses alone which I have recently been learning).

But of course the collection wouldn't be complete without Orla Kiely's smart tailored coats, elegant knit dresses, and alluring patterns that have put Orla Kiely's talent and creativity on the map! Overall this collection shows us that growing up may not be all that bad!

Carven Fall 2011

If there's one line whose look book I look forward to seeing every season it is definitely French design house Carven. And once again their beautiful feminine designs do not disappoint.

What I love most about Carven is that they know how to make a good SUPERB dress for women who like me, who wouldn't really feel comfortable in an over sexualized, womanly dress (ala Versace, Robert Cavalli etc. ) Carven makes exquisite dresses, and sharp, exceptionally tailored separates that are the perfect balance of girly charm and adult sophistication. Carven makes clothes that I feel define that certain point in a woman's life (I'll call it mid 20s) where you need a little of both, girly charisma and womanish sex appeal, in your life.

I am especially loving the beautifully fitting jackets with toggle closures and the introduction of tartans and plaid for Autumn / Winter. I can definitely use more tartans and plaid for this winter.
