Louis Vuitton Spring 2013

Spring 2013 is a fantastic example of how 60's mod and esthetic inspired legions of fashion collections. Today we will look at designer Marc Jacobs spectacular Spring 13 collection for Louis Vuitton which is obviously heavily inspired by mod with this stark color contrast, ultra mini dresses and the marvelous check patterns that channel pop art of the 1960s.

Mod Revolution Vogue China

As a human being I have many weaknesses, chocolate cupcakes from Magnolia Bakery, Korean Day Spas and short bobbed haircuts being some. But another thing that is pretty much April kryptonite are stripes. I adore stripes! I constantly find myself purchasing striped dresses and tops that look like the many other striped pieces I own but I cannot say no to a good stripe therefore my collection keeps growing.

Vogue China does an amazing job of showcasing this springs hottest trend of my beloved stripes and displaying them in what I could only describe a very mod, very chic, all girls school. I'd love to attend the college that has Marc Jacobs, Prada, Louis Vuitton striped pieces as their uniform. Sigh, if only such a beautiful thing existed, and they served Magnolia cupcakes for lunch!

Leonor Watling for GQ Spain

With all the hullabaloo over Baz Lurhmann's new hyper-stylized rendition of The Great Gatsby coming out this week, I thought I would step away from all things mod for a bit for a very Gatsby-esque post. A post with all the glitz, enchantment, beauty and sensuality of the Roaring 20's as depicted in Baz's new film (which Liam and I were lucky enough to attend a pre screening last weekend). I found that vivacity in this engaging photo shoot for GQ Spain featuring actress Leonor Watling. Doesn't Leonor make the Jazz Age look fun? :)
