Alex Prager - The Big Valley

These photographs by Los Angeles based photographer Alex Prager are so stylish, so saturated, and so cinematic! Alex's subjects are polished and eerily near perfection in their darkly playful positions. Her photos are shot from unexpected angles and unusually lit which transforms the girls into heroines from Mid-centruy films.

Alex's series, The Big Valley, debuted in 2008 and has been exhibited in institutions worldwide. She continues to work out of Los Angeles and has photographs in permenant collections in museums such as MOMA, The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and Moderna Musset Stockholm.

Giulietta Resort 2013

The Giulietta line just keeps making me a devotee of the brand! Resort 2013 is so exciting that although I just wrote about Giulietta Fall 12, I just couldn't keep their Resort 2013 collection unwraps. The line is charming in every way possible. What first comes to mind when I see the collection is 1920s Art Deco meets 1960's Mod - and the creations are just perfection.

The Resort line has geometric prints, color blocking and sheer panels which add just a demure hint of  sex appeal. The pant suits in the collection have a whim of Katharine Hepburn in where they are bold and masculine, but extremely sensual and appealing. The resort line is completed with the grand piece of the collection; a sweetheart neck dress in black and white with a floor grazing knife pleated skirt. It is one of the most glamourous pieces I have ever come across in a modern day collection.

I love Giulietta!

Dear Creatures A/W 2012

The Dear Creatures Fall 2012 line might be it's most playful collection yet. Inspiration for the pieces came from designers Rob & Bianca's playfully feline muses Little Dude and Mouse, 2 cats that the couple have rescued and adopted.

I must admit the Dear Creatures Fall collection is always my favorite season. Dear Creatures has a knack on creating the most perfect Fall coats, sweaters and jackets ever. This Fall season is no different with adorable outwear such as the double breasted Chelsea Coat,  the nautical Harbor Sweater and vintage chic Stella Cardigan. But what I feel is always the true treat for Dear Creatures fans are the company's dresses. Dear Creatures has created some elegant color blocking in the Penny and Gillian dresses, perfect for Holiday parties this year, along with some sharp causal dresses like the Camille and Moby dresses. What Dear Creatures fans can truly get excited about this season is that they have reissued one of their most beloved dresses, the Madeline Dress from A/W 2008. If you didn't have the chance to purchase this iconic dress before I highly recommend purchasing it now. The Madeline dress is up there in my book of definitive dresses.

Carven Mens Fall 2012

Carvens designs are always on point with trend and continual wit. The colors and fits on their mens collection are youthful but with a heavy dose of proper and pert. What I was most drawn into by this collection are the beautiful colors chosen. I am very much feeling the burnt khaki, cranberry, jewel tones blues and hope the hues transcribe into their Fall Women's pieces. This mens line by Carven with it's heavy nod to French Schoolboy chic,  features uniformed suits, boxy jackets, color blocking accents and collegian like wool sweaters. The line is executed so well that I yearn to own some of the pieces myself!
