Louis Vuitton Spring 2013
Spring 2013 is a fantastic example of how 60's mod and esthetic inspired legions of fashion collections. Today we will look at designer Marc Jacobs spectacular Spring 13 collection for Louis Vuitton which is obviously heavily inspired by mod with this stark color contrast, ultra mini dresses and the marvelous check patterns that channel pop art of the 1960s.

Mod Revolution Vogue China
As a human being I have many weaknesses, chocolate cupcakes from Magnolia Bakery, Korean Day Spas and short bobbed haircuts being some. But another thing that is pretty much April kryptonite are stripes. I adore stripes! I constantly find myself purchasing striped dresses and tops that look like the many other striped pieces I own but I cannot say no to a good stripe therefore my collection keeps growing.
Vogue China does an amazing job of showcasing this springs hottest trend of my beloved stripes and displaying them in what I could only describe a very mod, very chic, all girls school. I'd love to attend the college that has Marc Jacobs, Prada, Louis Vuitton striped pieces as their uniform. Sigh, if only such a beautiful thing existed, and they served Magnolia cupcakes for lunch!

A la Mod - How To Spend It Magazine
Mod it truly all around us this spring! In magazines, fashion shows, television, adverts, movies and even in very unexpected publications like London's Financial Times How To Spend It magazine.
Now you wouldn't expect such a swank fashion spread in a finance magazine but Financial Times does style so well that they put out a big glossy editorial, How To Spend It, 30 times a year and distribute it with finance circular. And by golly this photo shoot entitled A la Mod is right on the money!

Peggy Moffitt for Love Magazine
Peggy Moffitt (the one and only) shines in this pictorial and interview for Love magazine's Spring 13 issue. I am enthralled to see Peggy model contemporary pieces by Chanel, Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga, and Givenchy as well as incorporate Rudi Gernreich pieces from her personal collection. Peggy brings such a sass and vibrancy to all her photographs and models 60's inspired modern pieces and authentic 60's vintage pieces like no one else could but her! Bravo Peggy and I do hope to see you model more frequently. Your fans await you.
(Thank you Christina Martinez for sharing the photos!)
